The Rattler Ropes Premium Calf Roping Jerk Line, identified by product number CRPJL, is a crucial tool in calf roping. This upgraded jerk line is approximately 19 1/2' long, with a 7/16" diameter, and is constructed out of 48-strand poly sleeve material with a braided nylon core. Jerk lines are vital in calf roping as they allow the rider to control the horse while chasing and catching the calf. The jerk line attaches to the bridle of the horse and runs through a pulley system to the cowboy or cowgirl's hand. By pulling on the jerk line, the rider can effectively communicate with the horse and direct its movements, ultimately leading to a successful catch and tie of the calf.
