The center cheek ring can be used for direct rein pressure, which is a great option for beginner riders and ponies alike. The center ring is also a good option for the older well behaved pony. If the rider and pony are ready to advance to advance to more leverage, drop down to the lower rein ring for more control. The solid mullen mouth provides an even pressure distribution across the entire mouth making the butterfly pony bit a great transitional option for the pony or small horse.
